Origami Cat Menagerie

Here is a gallery of all the paper cats that appear in the book Cat Origami by Roman Diaz. Together with the specially colored and patterned paper, the book allows for a wide range of fun cat models. The paper itself could also be used productively for other models in other books, feline or not. Overall, the book is a good intermediate level collection: there are some simple models which still look good, and a few harder ones as well. Generally the instructions are clear, with only a few places in a few models where I had to stop to figure things out.

Origami Maine Coon Cat

The defining feature of this breed is mostly its large size. At least, to the casual fan. Since all the paper in the book starts the same size, that aspect really doesn’t translate, although it appears that this model does avoid some small detail folds to preserve the overall size.

Paper Cat!

The position of the cat is cute and the upturned head makes it appear it expects something from you (probably food). This was an easier model than some of the other recent ones, so I am not entirely sure why it is at the end of the book, but I thought it was good overall.
