One Born Every Day: Ep 5

One Born Every Day is a Supers Campaign run using GURPS with material from Supers and Action. Basic Setup Post. Character Summary.

In this episode, the heroes attempt to investigate Technozi, the company that abducted Luigi in the first story arc. They have varying success as you will see. Remember that Luigi got beat up rather badly last episode, so he spends most of this one resting.

Origami Yin and Yang

This is another model from Origami to Astonish and Amuse. It is a good model just on the surface of it, but the best part is that it is two-sided and the colors are reversed on the other side. This is like the Iso-Area Swan from last week.

There are some difficult parts to this model, but the effect is really good overall. It is cooler in person, since you can flip it over and see the other side.

VS Match: Gotham Knights and Arkham Inmates

So, a little bit ago, I found a way to play the old card game VS that was published by Upper Deck Entertainment in the early 2000s. It is a superhero collectable card game featuring DC and Marvel sets that cover all your favorite superheroes and villains (unless you are really into Excalibur). Since I am playing it, I figured I might as well share it a little here.

Dungeon Dozen: Part 14

This is a relatively terse report of the occurrences of a long scale 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign with a roster featuring one member of each class in the basic Player’s Handbook. I used the random tables in the Dungeon Master’s Guide extensively to generate dungeons and adventure seeds. It is very hack and slash in style.

Adventure 14: Snake Eyes

Characters:

Dain Ironfist: A level 3 dwarf fighter, Dain is approached by a minor baron, who requests that they bring him a magic shield so that he will be ready to fight alongside the duke of swords when he revolts from the central kingdom. It is in an abandoned elven temple built on top of a small mesa.

Ander Hornraven: A level 3 barbarian, Ander gets recruited by Dain to help find the shield.

Hope: A level 3 tiefling cleric of light and founding member of the party, Hope and Dain have become good friends and she agrees to come as well.

Roscoe Greenbottle: A level 3 halfing warlock of the old ones, is in debt to the party since they caught him committing fraud. He adventures with them and always claims that it is because of the debt, but he actually worked that off months ago.

Origami Swan (Iso Area)

This is a neat and simple model that is sort of difficult to describe. The final product is like a disc with a Brown Swan on one side and a White Swan on the other. The two sides are otherwise the same. Thus, the total brown area of the model is equal to the total white area of the model.

This is a model from `Origami to Astonish and Amuse’ which has some very unique models like this, and then also some really bad joke models. Still, it has models from a wide variety of skill levels and some of them are truly amazing. I will do another of these Iso-Area models next week too.

GURPS Realms TL 6-8

It has been a while since my last post; in part because the university cycle strongly affects my free time and in part because I have less experience with the TL 6-8 Mass Combat elements. At any rate, posting should now resume somewhat regularly. This is a follow up to my previous realms post and features the further evolution of the Orshan Empire.

TL 6: The Grand Orshan Republic.
The last king of the Orshan Empire was violently deposed, leading to a period of substantial unrest, but in the end a representative government came into power. With some revolutionary fervor, it conquered some of its monarchic neighbors and grew substantially in size and power.
